The announcement of A Bathing Ape’s newest installment was made around the middle of November, rejoicing fans and expanding the brand’s empire on the East coast (also with the opening of the pirate store in Taiwan shortly after). The newest Bape store is set to open up on December 19 at Mandarin Gallery, a place that is known for its high end retail stores. The picture below is a preview of the store, under construction until the day of opening.

Today, more information regarding the store opening date surfaced, specifically the store opening exclusive t-shirt.

The shirt has the image of a ‘Merlion’, with the words ‘A Bathing Ape’ around it. A Merlion is the national symbol of Singapore, combination of a fish tail (Mer meaning sea) and the head of a lion. The shirt will be retailing at $197 SGD (~$98 CAD) and will be available in all sizes at the date of launch.

In addition to the tee, special Bape Fukubukuro (Lucky Bags) will be available at the new store, retailing at $328 SGD ($250 CAD) each. In each Lucky Bag, there will be 1 Sweatshirt, 2 T-Shirts, and a Bape-themed 2010 calendar; all packed in a Bape bag (no pictures yet, I will keep you posted). Rumours are that the 2 shirts and sweatshirt alone retail at about $657 SGD in total. The Lucky Bags will be available on January 1, 2010 and will be in all sizes.

So yes, for those in Singapore or who know people in Singapore, you or someone you know should stop by the store to get an exclusive tee or even a Lucky Bag! My next wonder is about the city exclusive camo. Nobody has any idea what the city camo colours consist of (red and white maybe?), but I’m hoping it won’t be anything too outrageous.
