With the expansion of my photography opportunities, it finally came to a point where shooting with a kit lens and 50mm prime lens just wasn’t going to do it. After weeks of research, I finally bought a Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 with HSM from an online shop. It was like Christmas all over again when Canada Post tracking alerted me that my package was at the post office ready to be picked up today.
The lens is REALLY nice, pretty sturdy and quite heavy. HSM means the lens has a “Hyper-Sonic Motor” and autofocuses quickly and quietly. I will be testing this at Inspire 2011 and the ACE National Exposition (in Toronto) in the coming weeks :)

By the way, the above photo was taken with a point-and-shoot camera. It’s surprisingly different from a DSLR, I’m embarrassed to say it was difficult to get a good photo with it.
